Matt joined Gresham in 2011 as a Managing Director of Gresham’s corporate advisory business, Gresham Advisory Partners Limited, and is based in Melbourne.

Matt has over 20 years experience in investment banking and corporate advisory. Prior to joining Gresham, Matt was Head of Transport and Infrastructure within the Investment Banking division of Merrill Lynch, which he joined in 2004. Matt has also spent four years with boutique advisory business Winstar Partnership (as a director and shareholder) and five years with UBS in Melbourne where he held the position of Director in the Corporate Finance Group.

Over his career, Matt has worked with a broad range of clients including QR National, the Queensland Government, Carlyle Infrastructure Partners, the Future Fund, Hastings Funds Management, Reckon, Country Energy, Babcock & Brown, ANZ, Foster’s, Orica, National Foods, Permanent Trustee Company, Mayne Group, the West Australian Government and key participants in the Australian horse racing industry.

Between 2009 and 2011, Matt was a lead advisor to the Queensland Government in relation to its $15bn privatisation programme which included the sale of Forestry Plantations Queensland, Port of Brisbane, Abbot Point Coal Terminal and Queensland Motorways as well as the IPO of QR National.

Matt is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.
